Excitement is building in the Drama department with more than 100 pupils rehearsing for their upcoming production of ‘Kes’. Head of Drama, Mrs Buric said: “The rehearsals are going really well. ‘Kes’ requires a large cast.
“I am lucky to work with talented students.
“There’s a real family feel to the cast. We have two boys sharing the role of the main character, Billy, Hugh Stanway and Taran Fox, and even though they are only in Year Eight, they have a maturity beyond their years.”
The play tackles issues which affect young people today and is very moving. Mrs Buric described the story as “one boy’s search for hope and freedom.”
‘Kes’ will run at the Stephen Joseph Theatre from February 11-13, 2016.
