RESIDENTS will get a chance to examine plans for a proposed new Tesco Store in Dean Road at a Scarborough Urban Area Forum.
The closing date for people to have a say on the scheme, which has been put forward by Tesco and Assura Properties, has been extended until the end of this month.
The forum is due to take place on Wednesday (16 February) at Scarborough Library and Information Centre in Vernon Road.
An exhibition of the plans will be available between 3pm and 8pm and and residents can drop in at any time ask questions and comment on the plans. Tesco representatives will be present during the session.
Scarborough Urban Forum chairman Lindy Rowley said: “We’re very pleased to be able to offer residents a chance to see the plans for the new store.
“We’re also happy that Scarborough Council has extended the consultation deadline so that comments made by people attending the forum can be considered by councillors when they come to take the decisions on the planning application.
“The forum will give people the chance to comment on the application that has been submitted by Tesco and give feedback about issues of concern such as traffic, design issues, the impact on neighbours, noise and other businesses in the area.”
Deborah Hayeems, corporate affairs manager for Tesco, said: “This is another great opportunity to get feedback from the community and also to answer any questions that people have. We are committed to engaging with as many people as possible and look forward to the event next week.”
