WE have listened to our loyal readers and decided to publish seven-day TV listings as part of the great new Scarborough News.
A number of people who are delighted with the new-look paper and its total package of news and features asked us to bring back TV coverage.
We are pleased to announce that there will now be a four-page listings guide – starting next week.
One of the long-standing readers of the old Evening News who is now a fan of The Scarborough News is gardener Ged Crinnion, 72, of Hackness Road, Newby, who said: “I think having the TV listings will be good.
“I always looked forward to the Evening News but I’m pleased at the change, and the new paper works out very cheap too. I now get the paper every Thursday and I’m getting used to it. It will become a natural thing to do for many people.”
Mr Crinnion, who has two sons and five grandchildren, said the index on page 2 of the paper is useful to help find his way round the bumper edition.
A number of other readers have also made requests which we are happy to implement. They include reference on page 1 or page 2 to the family announcements page, and also for the return of the pubs night focus in the entertainments section.
The size of the story text is also bigger to make it easier to read and one reader wrote to say: “It’s good all round, and good to keep it all week.”
Other readers like the full puzzle page and another typical comment we received was: “It’s a much better read. I like the background information added at the side of articles and the greater depth.”
