PRODUCE from broad beans to bonsai trees were on show at an event hosted by the Scarborough and District Horticultural Association.
Its early flower and vegetable show at Crossgates Community Centre attracted 260 exhibits.
“Numbers were slightly down,” said secretary Gordon Shepherd, “but we had lots of visitors.”
The group has two more shows before the end of the year.
Its early chrysanthemum and dahlia show will be held from Saturday September 10 to Sunday September 11; the late chrysanthemum and dahlia show – including wines and handicrafts – is on Saturday November 12 to Sunday November 13.
Both events are at Crossgates Community Centre. Opening times for the public are: Saturdays 1pm to 4.30pm; Sundays 11am to 4.30pm. Entry is free.
Exhibitors can drop off produce on Fridays from 6pm to 10pm and on the Saturdays from 8am to 10pm.
