Theatre show earns nationwide praise

Four star reviews have been earned by the latest show at teh Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough.

Both the production and Sarah Parks who plays the title role in Marlene have earned rave reviews from the national and regional critics.

The play tells the story of last years of screen legend Marlene Dietrich’s life touring her one-woman show.

The Guardian said it was “a superlative performance from Sarah Parks”.

Theatre bible The Stage said Sarah’s performance “is nothing less than a triumph”.

Sarah has appeared at the Stephen Joseph Theatre with Hull Truck Theatre.

She will also appear in artistic director Chris Monks’ adaptation of Carmen later this year.

Marlene runs in repertory until September 3. Carmen opens on July 28.
