The 96th annual Thornton-le-Dale show is under way as thousands of people flocked to The Showground to take in the spectacle.
A thrilling moto-cross jumps display by international star Jaime Squibb, the White Helmets motorcycle display team and a magic display were just a few of the attractions on offer on a sunny day in Ryedale.
Speaking as the show was in full swing chairman Martin Blythe said: “Things have been going very well.
“The crowds have been pouring in, the weather has been kind to us, not been too warm to walk around in just pleasant with nice little breeze. This is also good for the animals as it calms them down.”
Organisers were expecting about 14,000 people to attend the show, but those manning the gates reckon that ‘many more’ have come in than last year.
As usual there were hundreds of show classes for animals and produce.
