AN INTERNATIONAL athletics star will be in Scarborough later this month to officially start the McCain Yorkshire Coast 10k run.
European bronze medallist 400m hurdler Perri Shakes-Drayton, who is an ambassador for McCain Foods, will also offer hints and tips to those taking part in the October 30 event.
More than 1,100 runners are expected to participate in the annual event, which will start at the Scarborough Spa at 10am. A family Fun Run covering 2.5km will follow at 11.30am.
Shakes-Drayton, 22, said: “The McCain Yorkshire Coast 10k run is a brilliant opportunity for people of all ages to get involved in athletics. I am looking forward to seeing what Scarborough has to offer.”
