Saint Catherine’s Scarborough Support Group is hosting a “Ladies’ Lunch” at Hackness Grange Hotel with author to the stars Piers Dudgeon.
The group is excited to launch its first event, which will take place on Wednesday October 18.
Piers Dudgeon will speak about his experiences writing biographies for Daphne Du Maurier, Catherine Cookson, Maeve Binchy and Barbara Taylor Bradford.
Barbara Taylor Bradford gave a message for those attending, saying: “I want to wish you all a wonderful afternoon when Piers comes to speak about me at your event. I always relish listening to him at events, whomever the subject matter is. “He is a unique speaker and creates a kind of magic. I wish I knew how he did it. I have sent him two signed copies of my books, which will be auctioned off that afternoon. I am pleased to do this because Saint Catherine’s in Scarborough is a very good cause and every bit of money helps to make life more comfortable for patients there.”
The lunch will include a welcome drink and a two-course lunch with tea and coffee.
The event will start at 12.30pm. Tickets are £25 and can be purchased from Saint Catherine’s fundraising department on (01723) 378406.
