TRAFFIC was brought to a standstill yesterday afternoon after a lorry hit the side of a car.
The incident happened in Foreshore Road at around 2.30pm, as the back of an articulated lorry clipped a white Citroën van as it tried to turn a corner.
Police arrived at the scene soon after to help get traffic moving again as dozens of people on the busy seafront looked on.
A North Yorkshire Police Spokesman said: “Police arrived at the scene at 2.30pm, and traffic was disrupted until 2.45pm when the police left the scene.”
There were no injuries at the scene and no arrests were made.
