POLICE have officially named the Scarborough man who died at the weekend after he was hit by a train.
A British Transport Police spokesman confirmed that he was 21-year-old James Bean from East Ayton.
He added: “We and North Yorkshire Police attended the incident which was reported to police at 6.09pm.
“The incident is currently being treated as non-suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
Officers stayed until 9pm and Mr Bean was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Wednesday Scarborough’s coroner opened and adjourned an inquest into the death.
