EMERGENCY services were called to two road traffic collisions in Scarborough yesterday afternoon.
The first happened at 3.50pm at the junction of Filey Road and Sea Cliff Road.
Three cars were involved and two people were taken to Scarborough Hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life threatening. The road was closed until 4.50pm as it was blocked by the vehicles and oil had been spilt.
Two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle were sent to the scene and police and fire crews also attended the incident.
The second crash happened at 4.15pm at the junction of Columbus Ravine and Dean Road.
It involved a silver Vauxhall Astra and a blue Renault Clio which ended up on its roof.
The male drivers of both cars were treated by paramedics at the scene.
Traffic Sergeant Richard Parson said: “This has been a two-vehicle accident on the roundabout.
“We are taking the opportunity to speak to witnesses then we will investigate what has happened.”
He added that the road did not need to be closed off and traffic was directed around the incident.
