TRIBUTES have been paid to former Scarborough Athletic chairman Richard Adamson who died aged 59 on Monday night.
Mr Adamson, who was also well known as director of housing at Yorkshire Coast Homes, was diagnosed with cancer in February.
Numerous friends and colleagues have paid tribute, including Shaun Tymon, chief executive of Yorkshire Coast Homes.
He said: “He was a great man and probably did more for our tenants than anybody else.
“As well as being in a senior position and running things from a strategic level, knew many of our tenants personally and they’ll be very upset.
“He was a modest and unassuming man who will be very sadly missed by everyone who knew him.”
His lifelong friend, journalist Mat Watkinson, has also paid tribute, saying: “I had known him for nearly 50 years - we used to ride our bikes to school together.
“He had a mischievous sense of humour and was very kind and generous.
“He was very well liked and would do anything for anybody. He loved his music and watched sport until the end.”
