Two people require medical treatment after escaping Scarborough flat fire
Two people needed medical treatment after a flat fire in Scarborough.
Fire crews were called to the fire in a second floor flat, which started in the kitchen accidentally, at about 4.50pm yesterday.
Firefighters from Scarborough and Filey were called to the blaze as well as the aerial ladder platform. The fire was extinguished using two sets of breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet.
The two residents were not seriously hurt, but did have slight smoke inhalation and were treated by paramedics at the scene.
