Two people rescued by coastguards after being cut off by the tide at Cayton Bay

Two people were rescued yesterday after being cut off by the tide at Cayton Bay.

Cayton Bay.

Teams from Scarborough and Burniston Coastguard, Filey Coastguard and Scarborough Lifeboat station were called to assist in the rescue.

Once the casualties were located a rope system was set up and a rope technician deployed in order to take them up the cliff.

Both were safely recovered to the top of the cliff.

If you see anyone in danger on the coast, please dial 999 and ask for Coastguard.
