A man in his 40s has been airlifted to hospital with internal injuries after falling around 25ft from a ladder.
The incident happened just before noon at Scarborough harbour and coastguards, fire crews, police and Yorkshire Air Ambulance were all in attendance.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 1213 the Fire Service were called to a gentleman who had fallen approximately 8 metres from a ladder.
“Fire Crews from Scarborough Fire Station attended and assisted carrying the male on a stretcher along the harbour wall to the Air Ambulance.
“The male was aged approximately 40 years of age, the injuries were unknown at the time.”
Scarborough Coastguard say that beside the internal damage, the man’s thought to have suffered head and neck injuries in the fall.
He was airlifted to James Cook Hospital, and his condition is currently unknown.
