Last weekend saw Ryedale Auctioneers’ second Militaria and Sporting Auction of the year.
There were more than 500 lots in the auction, made up of just over 50 lots relating to fishing including reels, rods etc and over 250 lots comprising of pistols, de-activated weapons, firearms, shotguns and various accessories.
A spokesman at the auctioneers said: “We had a very eclectic mix of taxidermy ranging from birds and woodland animals to the more unusual items, including a piece by Anthony Redmile which was one of our top sellers on the day. We also had a good range of framed paintings and prints including some ‘Snaffles’ prints which are always popular.
“Our next Militaria and Sporting sale is on 18 June and items have already started coming in.”
