The senior investigating officer in the Bei Carter murder inquiry has appealed to wanted man John Heald to hand himself in to the police.

At Bridlington Police Station this afternoon (Monday 21 July) Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Baldwin called for Mr Heald, 53, to come forward following the murder of the 49-year-old Bridlington guest house landlady on Friday 18 July.

Bei Carter was found dead at the Morayland Hotel in Marshall Avenue where it is thought Mr Heald was a resident.

Humberside Police and South Yorkshire Police are searching for Mr Heald, after he was spotted in the Rotherham and Mexborough area.

Mr Heald is also wanted on suspicion of a serious offence in Sheffield on Sunday 13 July.
