Aurasma’s image recognition technology uses your smartphone or tablet camera to trigger images and then overlay media on top of them in the form of animations, videos, 3D models and web pages.

The Exploring Digital Futures conference is run by Reel Solutions and includes speakers from the Royal Shakespeare Company and from leading animation studio Blue Zoo, as well as digital art and new games.

Industry experts, creators and artists using Virtual Reality (VR) will feature world-premieres of new work from artists from Leeds to Los Angeles.

It is open to the public and people can try out technology that will become the norm in time to come.

Filey-based artist Ian Truelove, a lecturer at Leeds Beckett University’s School of Art, is premiering his new VR piece, Paintings, 2011-2017.

Visitors will have a chance to use Google Tilt Brush, an award-winning VR painting app which enables artists and doodlers to create digital art in a virtual 3D space.
