Ward’s crime on the agenda

CRIME in the Castle ward area of Scarborough will come under the spotlight at a meeting in the town.

The Castle Ward Tenants and Residents Association are set to hear from Sgt Rachel Wood and PC Julie Johnson on the latest crime figures in the area.

The meeting will also focus on licensing and the introduction of police and crime commissioners.

Residents will get the chance to find out more about Scarborough Maritime Heritage Centre’s plans for new interpretation boards in the harbour and Cllr Janet Jefferson, chairman of the group, will deliver an update on the Yorkshire Water treatment works set for the North Bay and the Toll House area.

A Royal Diamond Jubilee Residents’ Party will also be discussed on the evening.

The meeting takes place at 7pm on Tuesday, February 28, in Scarborough Library, in Vernon Road.
