Warning after reports of suspicious man following students in Scarborough

Residents are being warned about reports of a suspicious man following students in Scarborough.

There have been a number of reports since September regarding a man following pupils near to Sandybed Lane.

Police are conducting patrols around St Augustine's School and in the surrounding area.

The man is described as tall and slim, six foot plus, aged 20-30 wearing a black woollen hat with dark hair protruding from the bottom of it, black gloves, grey joggers or tracksuit bottoms and a black woollen coat down to the hip.

A police spokesman said: "We are conducting reassurance patrols around the school.

"We ask anyone who has any information or has seen anything in the area, to please get in touch via 101 and quote: 12170187619."
