Photos show large tree blown over by strong winds in Scarborough

Photos submitted to The Scarborough News by a reader show a large tree that was blown over during strong winds yesterday (Tuesday December 11).

The tree, between Eskitt Hill and Springhill Lane, was blown over at around 1.30pm.

Yesterday the Met Office issues a yellow weather warning for strong winds along the Yorkshire Coast with possible gusts of up to 50mph.

Further down the coast the high winds caused the Humber Bridge to close to high sided vehicles and caravans.

Winds speeds have dropped today but are expected to pick up again on Saturday.
