After recent heavy rainfall and flooding across the region, some will be relieved to hear this week is forecast to remain mostly dry and clear.

But the wintry weather will continue throughout the week.

Cold to start with a widespread frost and some freezing fog patches.

Remaining chilly through the day with spells of sunshine, although high cloud may make it hazy at times. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Clear spells this evening before areas of low cloud, mist and some fog form overnight with a touch of frost in places. Minimum temperature -1 °C.

Wednesday

Cloudy at first with some mist and fog, this gradually lifting through the morning.

Sunny periods developing during the afternoon, perhaps some showers. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Breezy overnight with some clear spells. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Thursday

Cloudy throughout the day with consistent temperature of 7 °C.

Stronger southeasterly winds with a speed of 18 mph moving into the afternoon and evening.

Dry and clear overnight. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Friday

Cloudy to begin changing to light rain from 9am to midday.

Temperatures begin to warm moving into the weekend. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Patches of sun through the afternoon and cloudy and warm overnight. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Outlook for the weekend is breezy and generally cloudy with some outbreaks of rain at times.
