WATCH: Scarborough's Sea Cut becomes a torrent after rainfall from storms

Scarborough may have escaped the worst of Storms Ciara and Dennis, with only minor damage and flooding, but nature still gave us some spectacular scenes.

They included the Sea Cut which flows into the sea at Scalby Mills. Due to the amount of rainfall, which has saturated ground and increased the levels of our watercourses, the Sea Cut has become a torrent. Also known as Scalby Beck as it nears the sea, the Sea Cut - which is classed as a river - comes off the River Derwent at Everley, near Hackness, and prevents flooding of the Derwent.
