Two ladies from the North Yorkshire area are on a massive fundraising mission in memory of their friend.

Shirley Brewer, from Scarborough, and Dee Lynes, who hails from Pickering have created whoopWHOOP! 2018

The whoopWHOOP! campaign is raising funds for York Against Cancer – starting this Saturday (16 September) with the launch of the website.

A major prize draw will also be launched following some hard work from the pair, who have managed to gather items from businesses across the region.

Any company that cannot donate goods are been invited to join the whoopWHOOP! 2018 Business Club and make a donation pledge if 1,000 draw tickets are sold.

Dee Lynes said: “The inspiration for this event was the death of our dear friend Donna. She loved afternoon tea and we loved her which is why we have organised the afternoon tea party. The party will be held next September and tickets are available at www.talbotmalton.co.uk.

“We are looking to gather more prizes from businesses in the Ryedale and Scarborough area so we can sell 1,000 tickets by next September.”

Visit www.whoopwhoop.uk to find out more information about the campaign.

Prize draw tickets cost £5 each and are available from justgiving.com/whoopwhoop2018
