CARERS in Scarborough are being reminded not to forget about looking after themselves too and that support is at hand.
For people looking after someone at home, there is a new drop-in service at Castle Community Office in the Market Vaults. Staff from Scarborough and Ryedale Carers Resource are there every Tuesday from 1pm-4pm.
Chief officer Elizabeth McPherson said: “Sometimes people are so busy caring for someone else that they forget to look after themselves.
“We focus on the carer and find ways of helping them lead less stressful and more fulfilling lives.
“This could be anything from some advice around welfare benefits to support in returning to work or helping carers take a break from caring for their loved one. Whatever help you need, get in touch, you’ll be glad you did.”
Scarborough & Ryedale Carers Resource also offer groups, training and other activities.
