PEOPLE have the chance to enjoy Scarborough’s Indian Summer in style at a host of events set to take place over the weekend.
The town will host the UK Professional Surf Tour for the first time today and tomorrow.
The surfing competition, which is round four of a 10-date competition, will take place off the North Bay.
Britain’s number one ranked surfer, Russell Winter, is among those set to take part.
The weekend will also include a series of skate and BMX workshops at Hairy Bob’s Skate Park offering free coaching led by Mike Mullen, the ex-world masterclass half pipe champion and Neil Danns, ex-British and European skateboard champion.
Visitors can also enjoy a series of freestyle shows on Royal Albert Drive run by the Animal Bike Tour.
Scarborough-based group Yorkshire Coast Morris (pictured) is also hosting a Morris dancing festival in the town. A group of dancers, calling themselves “Freaks on the Beach”, will be performing in Aberdeen Walk today from 2pm to 3pm, in St Nicholas Street from 3pm to 4pm, and the Harbour area from 4pm to 5pm.
Tomorrow they will be at Scarborough Castle from 11am to noon and at the Scalby Mills pub from 1pm to 2pm.
