Fiona Barton is the name of the moment and she’s appearing at Books by the Beach on Friday April 15 at 11am.
Her debut novel The Widow is everywhere – in bookshop windows, railway station billboards and every review magazine.
This page turning thriller is tipped to be the next Gone Girl and was shortlisted for the Richard and Judy Search for a bestseller competition in 2014.
Former journalist Fiona has dealt with a variety of difficult situations using other people’s words but writing her own as fiction was apparently much more exposing. Fiona has
worked on a variety of papers including The Daily Mail and The Daily Telegraph. She also trained journalists in Africa and Asia before turning to fiction writing.
Fiona will be appearing at Scarborough Library alongside actress and former Blue Peter presenter Janet Ellis. Tickets can be bought in advance at Stephen Joseph Theatre.
