Witnesses sought after cyclist shot on road by BB pellet

A police appeal has been launched for witnesses after a female cyclist was shot with a pellet.

The 39-year-old local cyclist was riding along Seamer Road at around 5.30pm on Saturday 18 May, when she was shot by the pellet which had been fired from a BB gun.

Enquires led to officers tracing a blue Vauxhall Corsa which had been seen driving around the area that afternoon.

The BB gun was recovered and police arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with the incident. He has been released on bail as enquiries continue.

Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or has been targeted in similar circumstances, to come forward with information.
