Woman charged with Botox fraud

A SCARBOROUGH beautician charged with disfiguring a colleague with an anti-ageing drug turned up for court in a Lady Gaga-style blonde wig.

Jamie Winter, 33, was arrested in May and charged with fraud by false representation by claiming to be a person qualified and authorised to administer Botox, which is only available on prescription.

In an effort to disguise herself, the brunette arrived at Hull Crown Court wearing a blonde bob wig, only to take it off and stuff it in a Marks and Spencers carrier bag as she passed through court security.

Miss Winter of Westbourne Road, Scarborough, wore blue jeans, a green T-shirt and a black stretch-cardigan as she stood in the dock.

Crown barrister Jayne Bryan told the court she faced a charge of fraud by false representation by claiming to be qualified and fit to administer Botox.

She said the allegation was Winter had used the drug imported from America by injecting it into herself and on a former colleague who had an allergic reaction.

Recorder Graham Hyland QC bailed Winter and told her to return in eight weeks.

Miss Winter donned her wig before leaving court.
