A WOMAN suffered serious injuries after being hit by a cyclist in Scarborough.
Police are seeking information about the collision which happened at 1.10pm on Friday.
The woman was walking along Ramshill Road near the junction of Belmont Road, when a cyclist travelling in the same direction collided with her, knocking her to the ground before landing on top of her.
The victim, a local woman in her forties, sustained a broken shoulder and elbow.
The cyclist was wearing a black hooded top and was riding a yellow cycle. He stopped to help the woman, but left without leaving contact details.
PC Ken Gunn said: “The woman has sustained serious injuries and it is important that we speak to the cyclist and anyone who saw what happened. The incident occurred around lunchtime and the road would have been fairly busy. I am appealing for the cyclist and anyone who was in the area who saw the cyclist or the incident to contact Scarborough police.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for PC Kenneth Gunn.
