Woman suffers head injury after scaffolding pole incident in Kirkbymoorside

A woman has been airlifted to hospital with what is believed to be a serious head injury after an incident in Kirkbymoorside this morning (Monday, September 29).

Police say she was hit on the back of the head by a scaffolding pole near The Summit, Main Street, at around 11.46am.

The Health and Safety Executive are understood to be on the scene and investigating the incident.

Police say three men were taking down the scaffolding when the pole fell and hit the pedestrian, a 65-year-old from the Helmsley area, who is understood to have been walking her dog.

Her injuries are said to be serious but not life threatening.

She has been airlifted to James Cook Hospital.
