MISS SCARBOROUGH hopefuls have 48 hours left to enter the competition, with the eventual winner gaining automatic entry to the prestigious Miss England finals.
This year’s pageant, under the direction of new organiser Diane Yalezo and sponsored by the Opera House Casino, is heating up for an exciting title race and will see the town’s next beauty queen crowned at the revamped Spa in South Bay on May 15.
The closing date for entries is this Saturday April 16, and with the opportunity to represent Scarborough, win a host of prizes and go through to the national finals, Mrs Yalezo is encouraging girls to get their applications in before the deadline.
She said: “It’s going to be fabulous event with girls, glitz and glamour, and any girls out there who want to be a part of it have one last chance to enter.
“I’d love to see more faces and it’s such a good experience for all those who take part. In previous years the girls have all said how much it built their confidence, there are some super prizes and the winner goes through to the Miss England finals which is a fabulous opportunity.”
Amy Pickup and Kayleigh Botham of Scarborough, and Kirsty Marie of Bridlington are the latest entrants and will be joined by Daisy-Mae Bluebell Bray, Katie Botham, Kathryn Hendry, Amii Pettitt, Louise Vickers, Christine Bowtell, Emily Wood, Abi Leighton, Leanne Wilford, Sammie Sykes and Faith Carmichael.
To join these girls in the running to become the next Miss Scarborough and District, entrants must be aged 17-24 and have a YO postcode.
