Anniversary: Revival of Trefoil Guild

Filey Trefoil Guild is one-year-old.

The adult section of the Girl Guide movement (now known as Girlguiding UK) was originally formed by Mrs Sybil Richardson in 1952, but disbanded in 2003 because of falling membership.

Gil Byrne brought it back to life last year and the guild now has 10 members.

Our aim is to support Filey Guides, Brownies and Rainbows. We took part in their building of a puppet for the recent Spectacular along Scarborough seafront and we are also helping at the 100th anniversary celebrations of the Brownies at Wetherby Racecourse in May.

Our meetings are held at The Grapes Inn, Queen Street, Filey, on the first Monday of each month when we enjoy quizzes, crafts and talks.

At a recent coffee morning £230 was raised.

If you are interested in joining the guild please contact Gil on 07837641501 and she will be very pleased to give you all the details.
