Council: Lucky to have attractive and well-kept area

Re letter from E Vasey (Scarborough News, July 24).

How lucky you are to live by a well kept council-maintained park, the park must on public view or a councillor lives nearby.

I live on Valley Road and to get the Valley Gardens by the duck pond maintained takes a lot of complaining via email. It’s so overgrown and a night time drinking den!

To the council it’s out of sight out of mind even though it’s a walk through to the town by residents and tourists.

Last excuse for not tidying it was for health and safety reasons as work is taking place on Valley Bridge, even though the public could use it!

It gets sorted once a year so E Vasey think yourself lucky.
