Feeding: Seagulls - the fault lies wth humans

As a Scarborian, born and bred some 71 years ago, my opinion on the fate of the seagulls is as follows - if everyone stopped feeding the gulls and disposed of their litter into waste bins, the current problems would not exist.

I appeal to residents therefore to be vigilant and warn others about feeding them with scraps of food; in actual fact if we lived in an inland town or city we would be overrun with rats.

I’m sorry to say, but the cause of a lot of trouble in Scarborough regarding seagulls etc is because a lot of folk are too idle to walk to a waste bin or actually quite enjoy feeding the gulls.
