A big thank you to Scarborough Hospital.
I have written this letter due to all the negative comments Scarborough Hospital has received recently and in the past.
In October 2012 my husband of 53 years was admitted to Scarborough Hospital with life threatening illnesses. After a short period in A&E my husband was admitted to Cherry Ward and then subsequently Beech Ward.
This had been a very difficult time for our family, but it could have been made much worse without the dedication and expertise of the doctors and nursing teams of Scarborough Hospital, especially Cherry and Beech wards.
The doctors and nursing teams worked way beyond what I would have expected and always went that extra mile no matter what time of day or night.
My family and I are truly grateful for the level of care they were able to administer to my husband. But, we’re also grateful for the time they took to talk with us to help us better understand my husband’s illness and the option available to us throughout his stay in hospital.
As a family we could find no fault with the medical provision and professionalism of all the staff involved in the care of my husband during what proved to be a very difficult time. And I hope this letter highlights the great work carried out by all who work at Scarborough Hospital.
