Great concert coverage

MAY I, on behalf of Scarborough Concert Band, thank the Scarborough Evening News (especially David Barry and James Hanley) for the excellent coverage you gave in reporting on our concerts on 5 and 19 October at Queen Street Central Hall.

The first raised £400 for the local branch of the Alzheimer’s Society. On the 19th a combined concert and act of remembrance was held to launch the 2011 poppy appeal for the local branch of the Royal British Legion. Naturally we are most grateful to our audiences for all their continuing support, loyalty and generosity throughout the year.

Our very sincere thanks must also go to the Rev Geoff Bowell and all members of Queen Street Central Hall for all their cooperation, help and support.

We are now looking forward to our two Christmas concerts, on Sunday November 27 at Queen Street Central Hall with the Celebration Choir, and Sunday December 11 at Westborough Methodist Church with Gladstone Road Junior School Choir. Both concerts start at 2pm and we look forward to seeing you.
