My wife and I went to the Open Air Theatre to see Scouting For Girls, Hoosier, Only The Young and Frazer, a band from Sheffield. We like to support the Open Air Theatre and go to lots of the shows, on this occasion I expect that we were one of the oldest pair in the audience.
When we arrived just after 6pm the theatre wasn’t that crowded. To our surprise Only The Young were on stage singing, it wasn’t clear what time the artiste came on; they usually come on stage later but the group were very good.
We were a bit disappointed that we missed some of their act, then came Frazer who weren’t advertised to appear, they too were good and very different from Only The Young.
Next was Hoosier, to be truthful we know nothing about their records but youngsters were singing a long with them and seemed to enjoy them, and lastly Scouting For Girls.
Again, we knew nothing about their records but there were two we recognised, Paul McCartney’s Live and Let Die and Bon Jovi’s Living on a Pray, which they sang well. They got the audience up dancing and cheering and the young people were singing a long word to word, I wished we’d known the words.
Another good show, well done Scarborough.
