Letter: Faith in human kindness is bolstered

On Saturday December 5 I caught a No.7 bus from Westborough to Cornelian. I got off the bus at around 16.40.

At 18.30 the same day I received a call from the Scarborough and District Bus services informing me that my wallet had been found on the bus, and I could collect it at my convenience.

Can I just say a huge thank you to the public-spirited passenger who handed it in, and also to the Scarborough and District Bus officer who felt the need to inform me as soo n as possible so that I wouldn’t begin the long and annoying process of cancelling all my cards. And of course, everything within the wallet (cash, cards, etc) was untouched.

This could have been a very stressful and expensive episode, but in the end, thanks to people’s kindness, it turned out to be no more than a minor inconvenience, and an opportunity for my faith in human nature to be bolstered.
