Letter: Plastics: it's a role for us all

Following my successful motion on this issue at January’s meeting, Scarborough Council is investigating how it can cut single-use plastics in its own operations and how we can help the community reduce their use too.

We are hoping to get leading organisations and individuals together to make the campaign more effective, so I am collecting a list ready for sending invitations to a meeting.

I already know about the following: the Marine Conservation Society, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, Whitby Naturalists, Surfers Against Sewage, Greenpeace, the Green Party, South Bay

Traders, the Sea Swim Group and Mandy Hillier.
