Remember the tunny sculpture, completed by Ray Lonsdale in 2012? Riding on the crest of a stainless steel wave, symbolising Scarborough’s maritime heritage, above the Tea Pot Cafe, it has finally reached completion!

It has been a roller-coaster of a journey, and a long haul to achieve a descriptive information board regarding tunny fishing locally.

However, thanks to all concerned – especially Gary Pickering who obtained the remarkable photographs. The display board, approximately 3ft by 2ft, was mounted on the sea wall close by on September 29.

To all who played a part in bringing the project to fruition – a huge thank you.
