Race for Life was a wonderful success

I WISH to say a big ‘thank you’ to all the organisers of the Race for Life event held in Scarborough on May 8, especially Clare Wase. Also thank you to the marshalls and police who helped to make the special event a great success as usual. They all did a wonderful job.

Everything went so well in spite of a damp start, but spirits remained high among the 1,500 female participants of all ages, who turned out in their wonderful ‘pink’ costumes. Everyone had made so much effort for a well deserved charity.

The new venue on the north Foreshore was a great success - with good access to the event and excellent convenient parking.

The route took us on a more interesting route with lovely views of the Castle and North Bay, in spite of a little mist.

I’m sure Scarborough would have benefited by the move of the venue, as people who came from away would possibly stay for the day, I’m sure the charity would benefit too.

Thank you once again to the organisers, who provided a most happy, safe and successful event.
