Restaurant idea for the Mere

I REFER to your article in the Evening News on March 30, regarding Scarborough Mere.

It is admirable that a developer has stepped in to build another cafe.

Before going ahead with plans, I do think that the cafe should have a deck of say 25 metres running out over the lake to accommodate tables and chairs. The cafe must also be permitted to serve alcoholic drinks.

I was a regular visitor to Viersen in Germany for several years and we regularly went to restaurants which I thought was an exact replica to what the Mere could do with. It was a restaurant which did a full menu and one could be served inside or on the deck. Whenever we visited it was extremely busy.

I feel sure that a similar restaurant built at the Mere would bring in a wealth of custom.
