Speaking up for Scarborough: Your Views

I have lived in Scarborough for five years, and have seen a decline in the people who live here.

I have witnessed grown men punching women in the face, alcoholics wandering the streets, children smoking, swearing, and drinking alcohol in the street.

I am desperate to move away from the town as I feel the social housing type of people who are now here are to blame for the decline, waiting for “pay day” to continue with there “habit”. The children of such families seem to be left to cope alone.

I even heard that the criminals leaving prison are given a one-way ticket to start a new life in Blackpool, Yarmouth and, yes, Scarborough.

I feel threatened living here and certainly do not venture outside alone after dark. It is such a shame as the town was once a nice place to live.
