Victims of bombing in 1941

RE: W WILLIAMSON’S article in the Evening News regarding fatalities during the bombing of Scarborough in March 1941.

There certainly were two fatalities in Commercial Street on that occasion, a mother and child, where the present prefabricated buildings now stand.

At that time I lived at 1 Wykeham Street. I believe their names are recorded on the War Memorial on Oliver’s Mount, as the other victims either will be or should be.
