Where’s the logic over lighting switch-offs?

I would just like to add my thoughts on the ‘money saving’ scheme by turning street lighting off at night.

I think this is a good idea but walking home late one night I looked across at Ashburn Road, which by the way has no housing on it and all the street lighting was burning brightly, we live on Weaponness Valley Road and 75 per cent of our lights were out!

OK no problem but when we get to the old park and ride there it is lit up like a football ground. What a real waste when there is one or maybe two coaches parked there. Not only that, but the site is protected by CCTV with infrared light detection!

Queen Margaret’s Road once again no housing but all the street lights shining brightly. Can you explain the logic of these decisions to me?
