The concert, which is usually held at The Spa’s Grand Hall, had to move online for the first time due to the pandemic to spread some Christmas cheer.

Nigel Wood, who organised the concert, has revealed that £3,000 was raised last year, which will be split equally among the selected charities: the Westway Open Arms in Eastfield; The Salvation Army Scarborough and The Rainbow Centre in Scarborough.

Mr Wood said: “During the pandemic, these organisations have seen their food banks come under increased pressure to meet the needs of so many families who have found things extremely difficult during this period, and we see this continuing in the days ahead. We wanted to raise as much as possible for our three chosen beneficiaries.”
