Despite being short on training, Corcoran shone at the National County Team Championships to help Yorkshire retain their title despite pressure from their rivals Devon.

The Scarborough swimmer impressed in the 100m butterfly events, swimming a short-course personal best.

Following her success at the British Swimming Championships in the summer, 15-year-old Amy Corcoran from Scarborough Swimming Club, was selected to represent Yorkshire as part of the team taking part in the National County Team Championships.

Corcoran, the home nation champion and gold medalist, is currently the fastest 14/15-year-old girl in the county for her selected event of 100m butterfly.

Only a few weeks back into training, she did not disappoint, swimming personal best short-course times in both individuals and relays.

Corcoran’s swims helped the Yorkshire team to retain their title as national champions, by 21 points over the second placed team Devon.

Corcoran is now back in training with Scarborough’s head coach Sam Greetham.
