Westway prospect Lewis Spaven produced a slick display to edge out Boldon ABC’s Lee Gordon in Newcastle.

The 15-year-old light-welterweight was quickly the dominant fighter in the first round, catching Gordon with his southpaw right hand, which he followed with an accurate and whipping hook that resulted in a standing count.

Gordon recovered but had to survive a tricky finale to the round as Spaven peppered him on the ropes.
