Canada call for Scarborough prop Murray

Liam Murray, who recently signed for Scarborough RUFC, will head to Ireland next month as part of a three-match tour with Canada's under-18s squad.

Murray has been selected to join up with his national side, who will play a Munster Development XV on March 22, Connaught’s Development XV on March 26 and Leinster’s Development XV on April 2.

A delighted Murray, who has been Scarboriugh’s man of the match in their last two outings, said: “I’ve been picked by the under-18s for their 12-day tour of Ireland, playing some provincial sides there. I can’t wait.”

Murray will head back to Canada following the tour, before returning to Silver Royd next season.

He added: “I’ll head back to Canada after the games in Ireland and then get ready to come back to Scarborough again next season.”
